This past summer allowed these players to emerge as some of the best Big Men in the class of 2024. Evolving your game requires a level of commitment and consistency.
A lot of these players are only just beginning to scratch the surface of their enormous upside. There’s a lot to like about each one of these young men’s Skillset.
So let’s not waste a lot of time; let’s get down to business:
• 6’9” 215 pound Center Jarin Stevenson of Chapel Hill (NC) has some tools in his bag. I watch him play multiple times over the summer. He is extremely comfortable in the high post.
Stevenson can put the ball on the floor; this is definitely a problem for players his size. He also demonstrates a soft touch from the mid-range. Stevenson has good footwork and moves well in the high post.

I was impressed with Stevenson’s hand-eye coordination; he can face up and attack off the dribble. He is not going to overpower you with his physicality, but he demonstrates good body control as a finisher.
Here are a few pluses to his game. Stevenson shows good mobility and off-the-ball lateral movement. He rebounds and is unselfish as a player. Stevenson has a desire to make everyone around him better.
The next phase in his progress will be in the weight room and consistently working on his skill set.
• 6’9” 215 pound Flory Bidunga of Kokomo, (IN) comes to America by way of the Dominican Republic of Congo. Beginning of the summer no major National ranking outlet had Bidunga’s on their radar.
According to Frank Burlison, a veteran recruiting scout. He believes Flory Bidunga is the best-looking prospect in the class of 2024. Bidunga has a great body frame with length and size. He’s a defensive menace creating problems for the opposition.
Offensively Bidunga has a good basketball IQ and demonstrates the ability to have a post-presence. Bidunga is one of the most intriguing prospects in the class of 2024 or 2025. He is explosive off the bounce and aggressive around the paint.
Here are a few pluses to Flory Bidunga’s game. Bidunga is a good glass cleaner, active motor, elite defender, and quick to the ball.
• 6’8” 230-pound Derik Queen of Baltimore, (MD) has some of the best footwork, and body control of all the Bigs in the class of 2024.
Athletically Derick is not going to wow you with posterizing dunks; he executes with fundamentals and techniques that allow him to get to his spots on the floor.
His finishing abilities inside the paint are efficient. Derick’s a good interior scorer that demonstrates patience. He can finish with both hands and shows a soft touch around the basket.

The next phase in his development and growth; will be for Derick to focus on his body. A good weight room regimen will complement his natural strength.
Here are a few pluses to the Derick Queen game. Nice footwork, interior scoring and perimeter skills, soft touch around the rim. Moves well without the ball.
• 6’11” 250 pound Center Somto Cyril of Chattanooga, (TN) is a strong aggressive intimidating glass cleaner. Cyril has good length and size and can dominate the game from a defensive standpoint.
For a young man of his size, Cyril moves extremely well and is a physical rebounder. He operates at a high level on the defensive side.
At this stage of his development; Cyril is extremely raw on the offense side. He does not offer too much, but I am impressed with his ability to get out in transition. He is a rim runner; one who attacks the basket with a purpose.
Here are a few pluses of the Somto Cyril game. Elite defender, high motor, rim protector, pound the glass inside.
• 6’10” 210 pound Center James Brown of Chicago, (IL) is a pleasure to watch. This rising junior took off over the summer. Brown has great footwork in the post; his interior scoring is above average.
Brown is impressive on the glass and has the ability to rebound and initiate the offense. He can get downhill quick and finish at a high level. Brown has a strong face-up game that can extend out to the three-point line.

What is most impressive about Brown’s game is his ability to pass the ball at his size. He has a solid handle; active motor and a basketball IQ that is above average.
Defensively Brown is a very good defender. He is tall with long wings and can contest any shot. Physically he is strong in the paint and very difficult to move.
Here are a few pluses of the James Brown game. Versatile, unselfish, high IQ, perimeter skills, interior scoring.
