Creighton’s six-foot point guard Ryan Nembhard is known more as a facilitator. Last night against Arkansas he demonstrated his ability to knock down threes, and be aggressive in transition.
As a point guard you can be a better facilitator; if you demonstrate the ability to score.
Nembhard showed us ways to negate length; by getting the ball off quickly up to the rim. Ryan Nembhard was in attack mode all night.
The pace is a very important component of being a successful guard at the collegiate level. Nembhard, who finished with a career-high 25 points, six rebounds, and five assists, made all the right plays for the Creighton Bluejays.
“He’s just grown so much,” Creighton’s coach Greg McDermott said of Nembhard. “He really dictates our tempo with his speed with the basketball. Obviously, his shooting’s been really good in this tournament. I don’t know what it is now, he’s got 30-some assists and five or six turnovers on the year.”

Next up for Creighton is the Arizona Wildcats, who defeated San Diego State 87-70 to advance to the title game. The Maui Invitational Championship will be played on Wednesday, November 23.
