Recognizing a player with homage typically means acknowledging or paying respect to a player who has influenced or made a significant impact on the game or sport they have participated in. Former Andre Agassi/ Democracy Prep basketball star Deishuan Booker is worthy of admiration and honor.
I saw somewhere Mr. Booker’s family was petitioning for his number to be retired at his former high school institution. I thought to myself, that would be a great honor for a young man who helped create a winning culture.

There is no doubt in my mind. He’s the best player to ever come out of that institution. What Deishuan did in two years, will take some players four years to do.
Deishaun was one of many players to help lay the foundation for a program that was recognized as one of the top 10 programs of a decade in Nevada.
He was a trendsetter at Andre Agassi Prep. Deishuan set an example for many players to follow. He helped create a conducive environment for the sport, particularly at the lower division level and made it popular for players like Akeemis Williams, Daniel Plumber, and Najeeb Muhammad.
At the high school level, he was a:
2x State Champ
2x POY
Average 26.3 ppg
7.8 apg
3.0 rpg
1.8 spg
In two years he scored 1155 points, he made 281 Free throws, and had 345 assists with 77 steals. And just imagine, if he played for 4 years. Those numbers are crazy!
Deishuan route to the professional level consisted of hard work and a commitment to excellence. He played college basketball for Gillette College the College of Southern Idaho, and California State University, Long Beach.
In 2018-19 he led the NCAA with 250 free throws, while he was third in the NCAA with a .912 free throw percentage.

In 2019-20 Booker played for CEZ Nymburk in the Czech National Basketball League.
In 2020-21 he played for BG Göttingen in the EasyCredit BBL. That season Booker also played for Anwil Wloclawek in the Polish Basketball League, for whom he averaged 15.3 points per game and 5.4 assists per game.
In 2021-22 he played for Le Mans Sarthe Basket in the Jeep Elite. That season Booker also played for Fos-sur-mer in the Jeep Elite.
In 2022-23 Booker is playing as a guard for Hapoel Galil Elyon in the Israeli Basketball Premier League.

Deishuan Booker is a Las Vegas native, and he is the only player in the history of the institution to ever play professional basketball at the highest level overseas.
