Athlete’s Growth and Commitment: Next Up, Mikey Medlock of Peninsula College…..

Success in any endeavor, including college athletics, is often determined by two key factors: dedication and sacrifice. These are the qualities that drive individuals to work hard and achieve their goals.

When it comes to college athletes, I have learned that fit and timing are also important considerations. An athlete may have all the talent and drive in the world, but if they are not a good fit for a team or if their timing is off, they may struggle to reach their full potential.

Mikey Medlock

I am pleased to see the progress and growth of Medlock, a young athlete. Watching him gain confidence and improve is truly rewarding. As Head coach Donald Rollman of Peninsula College stated on February 4, 2021, Medlock’s growth is truly impressive to observe.

Mikey Medlock Jr., a 6’3″ guard from (Las Vegas) Peninsula Junior College, has become one of the most improved players in the city. As a former Arbor View High player, Medlock has made significant strides in every aspect of his game, showcasing his ability to compete at the next level.

Currently, Medlock plays for the 2nd-ranked team in the NWAC conference, the largest junior college basketball conference in the nation. He is averaging 15.4 points per game, shooting 46.5% from the field, 85.1% from the free-throw line, and 3.3 rebounds per game. Medlock’s exceptional shooting extends beyond the arc, where he is shooting at a remarkable 45.6% per game.

Mikey Medlock Break School Record For 3’s In A Single Game

I will continue to remind young men that the ultimate victory is not given to the fastest or the strongest, but to the one who possesses the determination and perseverance to endure until the end.
