2025 “Akai Fleming” A Georgia Rising Star; With an impressive skill set

As journalist immersed in the world of high school and grassroots basketball based out west, I recognize the value of stepping outside my usual demographic to discover talented players from all around the country. Recently, I had the pleasure of encountering a rising star on the basketball scene – 6’4″ Guard Akai Fleming from Georgia, who is set to showcase his skills with the Atlanta Celtics on the 3SSB circuit this grassroots season.

Fleming is a good looking two-way guard, possessing a versatile skillset that allows him to excel on both ends of the court. With his impressive size and athleticism, he thrives in the open court and can confidently attack the basket with ease. His lateral movement is above average. He has a nice combination of length and perimeter skills that extend beyond the three-point line. As a legit three-level scorer, Fleming has a natural instinct for influencing the game, and his strong pull-up game as a guard is truly impressive.

What truly sets Fleming apart is his outstanding defensive abilities. He’s quick off the bounce, with a knack for getting his hands in the passing lane and flex balls, making him a defensive menace on the court. Despite being early in his development and growth, the tools and potential that Fleming possesses are undeniable.

In my personal opinion, Fleming’s stock is set to soar through the roof during the summer session. He is sure to become a top priority on many coaches’ recruiting boards. Overall, I am thoroughly impressed with this young man’s skillset at such a young age and have no doubt that he will continue to shine brightly in the game of basketball.
