Lee Aaliya’s commitment to the Michigan Wolverines in the class of 2023, as confirmed by his NIL agent Alex Saratsis to ESPN on Saturday, is significant news for the program.
The 6-foot-9 big man from Argentina gained interest from over 50 Division I programs after receiving NCAA eligibility certification. Aaliya’s rise to prominence began with his outstanding performance at the FIBA U19 World Cup in July, where he earned a spot on the all-tournament team by averaging 17.1 points, 9 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks per game.
Notably, he recorded a 31-point, 20-rebound, and 3-block performance against Canada during the event.
His addition will undoubtedly bolster Michigan’s basketball program, thanks to his valuable experience and imposing size. This commitment represents a significant upgrade for Head Coach Juwan Howard and the coaching staff.
