“Living with Purpose: Abdul’s Enduring Gift of Love to Our Community”

Processing loss takes time, especially when it involves someone as genuine as Abdul. In times of grief, I seek God’s guidance to understand the lessons behind such departures, asking Him to reveal what we need to learn to better ourselves and uplift those around us.

Life is a precious gift, a divine commodity granted to each of us, and we must never take a single day for granted. We’re called to live in love—because love and life are intertwined. To live with love is to live with purpose, and Abdul embodied that beautifully.

Abdul was a man of true integrity and character, a rare soul who moved through life with a sincere, compassionate spirit. He was uplifting, grounded, and committed to helping young people realize their dreams.

Father and Son

Through his actions and the example he set, he reminded us of the importance of kindness, humility, and dedication. I am thankful for the opportunities he gave my son to work at his tournaments this summer; it spoke to his dedication to empowering youth.

In my conversations with him, Abdul never disappointed in showing genuine love from the depths of his heart. May God be pleased with his service to this world, and may his spirit inspire us to carry forward his legacy.

Let us honor his memory by filling the world with compassion, peace, and hope. May his family find strength and comfort in this difficult time, and may we all strive to reflect the love and integrity Abdul demonstrated every day.

In 2021, I captured this memorable photo at the Wooten camp in Mansfield, Texas. Abdul and Alijah were there, with Abdul’s dedication to his son’s future shining through every moment.
